ALL INDIA MAHATMA HANSRAJ ARYAN INTERZONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL-2009
D.A.V. Public School, Sec-14, Faridabad played host to the ALL INDIA MAHATMA HANSRAJ ARYAN INTER ZONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL-2009 from 8th Nov’09-10th Nov’09. An annually held event, the Youth Festival, which is organized by ARYA VIDYA SABHA- a significant and vital element of the D.A.V. College Managing Committee, New Delhi, witnessed the participation of more than 1500 students of 130 D.A.V. Public Schools across India, divided into 13 zones. It provided a platform to the young and talented students to showcase their acumen in a number of Music, Dance, Literary and Fine Arts competitions. |

Dr. S.K. Sama, Vice-President DAVCMC inaugurated the Mega Event by lighting the ceremonial lamp on 8th November, 2009. The Opening Ceremony was also graced by the presence of Sh. Mohan Lal, Secretary, D.A.V. College Managing Committee, New Delhi, who was presiding over the function and Sh. K.L. Khurana, Regional Director and Manager of the school. |
In his welcome address, the Principal of the school, Sh, S.S. Chaudhary beckoned the students to participate in the festival with the right zeal and spirit. He asked them to learn effectively, act in the best manner and discover their strengths through participation in the festival. Dr. S.K. Sama appreciated the credibility of DAV institutions and their contribution in the field of education. He also gave away the Academic & Sports Excellence Awards to the 31 meritorious students of Class XI who are the recipients of the SCHOOL COLOUR this year.
A chain of events then unfolded with the Rangoli Competition, English & Hindi Debate & Declamation, Ved Mantra Recitation, and Quiz on the first day. The other events included On the Spot Painting, Greeting Card Making Competition, Welcome, Patriotic and Devotional song Competition, Light and Classical Vocal Music Competition, Ghazal singing competition, Classical and Folk Dance Competition, and Skit Competition all of which were held over the next two days. All these events witnessed fierce competition though an atmosphere of vibrant enthusiasm prevailed over all the three days. The Punjab Zone emerged the ‘Winner of the Overall Trophy’ by securing the maximum points, which was given away by Justice R.N Mittal-Vice President DAV College Managing Committee N. Delhi – Chief Guest during the Closing Ceremony on 10th November 2009. |
